Grilled chicken on a can (oven)
Grilled chicken on a can (oven)
Start a day ahead so the chicken can marinate a bit
Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken
- 2 tbsp Paprika powder
- 1 tbsp Lovage powder
- 1 tbsp Coriander
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 3 twigs Rosemary
- 1 cup Olive oil
- Salt
Instructions
- Start a day ahead so the spices can really get into the meat
- Clean the chicken inside and outside and dry with a kitchentowel
- Grate the garlic, take the rosemary leaves off the twigs and chop it up in small pieces
- Mix together with the paprika powder, lovage, coriander and a bit of salt and the oil
- Put this mixture on the inside and outside of the whole chicken
- After that put the chicken for a night in the fridge
- If you have a rotisserie spit in your oven, put the chicken on it and put in a preheated oven of 180 degrees celcius
- Don’t put it any higher in temperature, as this will make the outside black before the chicken is done on the inside
- You should count on 90 minutes in the oven for 1,5kg of chicken
- At the end of the time you can put the oven a bit higher in temperature to give the chicken a nice colour
- If you don’t have a rotisserie spit? No worries!
- And this part I like best about this hehe
- Use a can of beer!
- Drink half of the beer. I always leave half of the beer in the can and then I put the chicken on top of the beer can
- I then put the chicken on the can on top of a dish or baking tray with a layer of water in it to keep the chicken nice and moist
- Enjoy!
