Cherries on Brandy
Cherries on Brandy
Source: https://weckenonline.eu/recepten/kersen-inmaken-in-alcohol/I found this quite heavy, so maybe a smoother liquor could be nicer.
Equipment
- 1 Big jar with lid
Ingredients
- 1 kg Ripe cherries
- 350 gr Sugar
- 2 Sticks Cinnamon
- 5 cloves
- 500 ml Brandy
Instructions
- Take the stones out of the cherries and try to keep your cherries as whole as possible. Easiest to do this is by using a small machine for this.
- Take a jar of at least 750 ml
- Add a layer of cherries to the jar and then add a layer of the sugar, repeat until the jar is full.
- Then add the cinnamon stick and the cloves between the cherries.
- Fill the jar with Brandy.
- Put it aside on a dark and cool place for at least 2 weeks. Regularly check the jar to see if you need to add more Brandy as the cherries will absorb the alcohol.
- Nice on Vanilla ice cream for instance
