Cherries on Brandy

I found this quite heavy, so maybe a smoother liquor could be nicer.
Prep Time 30 minutes

Equipment

  • 1 Big jar with lid

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg Ripe cherries
  • 350 gr Sugar
  • 2 Sticks Cinnamon
  • 5 cloves
  • 500 ml Brandy

Instructions
 

  • Take the stones out of the cherries and try to keep your cherries as whole as possible. Easiest to do this is by using a small machine for this.
  • Take a jar of at least 750 ml
  • Add a layer of cherries to the jar and then add a layer of the sugar, repeat until the jar is full.
  • Then add the cinnamon stick and the cloves between the cherries.
  • Fill the jar with Brandy.
  • Put it aside on a dark and cool place for at least 2 weeks. Regularly check the jar to see if you need to add more Brandy as the cherries will absorb the alcohol.
  • Nice on Vanilla ice cream for instance
