Oliebollen
These things can almost not go wrong and they are nice and juicy and can keep for a few days. I absolutely love them!
Equipment
- 1 big bowl
- cling wrap
- Frying pan
Ingredients
- 1 Egg
- 500 g Flour
- 500 ml Milk
- 50 gr Yeast Fresh
- 15 g Grated lemon peel
- 50 g Real butter
- 10 g Salt
- 250 g Raisins Soaked in rum or water
- 150 g Currants Soaked in rum or water
- 200 g Diced apples
- 2 bottles Sunflower oil
Instructions
- Dissolve the yeast in 42,5 gram of lukewarm milk
- Stir in the egg
- Add the flour and after that the lemon peel
- Mix well
- When the dough is smooth, add the rest of the milk
- Add after that also the molten butter and the salt
- Mix well
- Add raisins, currants and apple cubes
- Let it rise for 45 minutes on 28 degrees Celcius
- Stir the dough and give it a few minutes more to rest
- Heat oil to 180 degrees Celcius
- Put balls of the dough in the oil (I use 2 spoons and put some dough in between the spoons)
- Fry the balls 6 minutes, but turn them halfway and let them drain afterwards
- Put powdered sugar on top
- Crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside!
