Moist chocolate cake
Moist chocolate cake (makes 2 cakes!)
Equipment
- 2 22cm cake tins
Ingredients
- 2 cups Flour
- 2 cups Sugar
- 3/4 cup Unsweetened cacao powder
- 2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Espresso Powder helps to get the rich chocolate flavour
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 1/2 cup Canola oil or melted coconut oil I use Sunseed oil
- 2 large Eggs
- 2 tsb Vanilla Extract
- 1 cup Boiling water
Instructions
- Put flour, sugar, cacao, baking powder, baking soda, salt and espresso powder in a large bowl and whisk together
- Add milk, veg oil, eggs and vanilla and mix untill well combined
- Add boiling water, mix slow
- Divide the mixture over two 22cm round cake tins
- Bake 30-40 minutes on 177 degrees Celcius until toothpick comes out clean
- Cool for 10 minutes
